TomTom NV Turns To Profit In Q3, Revenue Down 3%; Stock Rises 8%

Shares of TomTom NV (TMOAF.PK,TOM2.AS) are up 8 percent on Tuesday's trading after the company swung to third-quarter profit, compared to last year's loss. Results benefitted from higher automotive operational revenue and lower expenses. Group revenue, however, declined 3 percent from the previous-year period.

On the Amsterdam Exchange, the stock is up 8 percent on Tuesday's trading at 5.82 euros.

The developer of navigation and mapping products reported net result of 9.10 million euros or 0.07 euros per share in the third quarter, compared to net loss 4.38 million or 0.04 euros per share in the same period last year.

According to TomTom NV, result before tax was 10.33 million euros during the three-month period, compared to loss before tax of 2.09 million euros in the year-ago quarter.

The company's quarterly revenue fell 3 percent to 136.88 million euros from 140.68 million euros in the equivalent period of fiscal 2024. During the three-month period, automotive operational revenue, however, climbed 22 percent to 84.8 million euros from 69.5 million euros in the prior-year quarter.

TomTom NV said that during the third quarter, total expenses fell to 114 million euros from 126 million euros in the corresponding period last year.

Looking ahead, TomTom NV said that it now expects full-year 2025 group revenue and Location Technology revenue to touch the upper-end of the earlier given outlook. The company currently expects annual revenue between 535 million euros and 565 million euros. Location Technology revenue is projected in the 465 million euros and 490 million euros range.
