Hyundai Glovis Co., Ltd. (086280.KS), a logistics company, on Thursday reported higher profit for the third quarter, helped by a reduction in cost of goods sold, though sales edged lower during the period.
Profit before tax increased 4.8% to KRW 503.3 billion, compared with KRW 480.4 billion in the same quarter last year.
Operating profit rose to KRW 524 billion from KRW 469 billion a year earlier.
EBITDA or earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization climbed to KRW 717.6 billion from KRW 649.5 billion in the prior year.
Net profit improved to KRW 392.1 billion from KRW 383.7 billion last year.
Sales for the quarter declined 1.5% to KRW 7.355 trillion from KRW 7.469 trillion a year ago.
