Hyundai Motor Q3 Profit Falls, But Revenue Rises

Hyundai Motor Co., Ltd. (HYMTF.OB) reported lower profit for the third quarter of 2025, even as revenue posted a solid year-on-year increase.

Profit before tax declined 23.9% to KRW 3.326 trillion, from KRW 4.370 trillion in the same quarter last year, mainly reflecting an 11.6% increase in cost of goods sold.

Operating income fell 29.2% year-on-year to KRW 2.537 trillion from KRW 3.581 trillion, with the automotive division plunging 48.7% to KRW 1.174 trillion, while finance rose 32.4% to KRW 576 billion.

Net income dropped 20.5% to KRW 2.548 trillion from KRW 3.206 trillion a year earlier.

Revenue, however, rose 8.8% year-on-year to KRW 46.721 trillion, led by gains in both the automotive and finance segments. Automotive sales increased 7.9% to KRW 36.715 trillion, while the finance segment grew 10.7% to KRW 7.189 trillion.
