Inaba Denkisangyo H1 Profit Climbs On Higher Sales

Inaba Denki Sangyo Co., Ltd. (9934.T), an electrical equipment and materials distributor, Friday reported an increase in profit for the first half, compared to the last year.

The company's profit attributable to owners of the parent went up by 25.9 percent to 10.62 billion yen from 8.44 billion yen in the prior year.

Earnings per share were 186.85 yen, higher than 148.30 yen a year ago.

For the reported period, operating profit rose 18.8 percent to 14.05 billion yen from 11.83 billion yen in the earlier year.

For the first half, net sales grew 7 percent to 192.25 billion yen from 179.73 billion yen for the comparable period.

For the full year, Inaba expects profit attributable to owners of the parent to be 19.4 billion yen, up 3.3% from last year, and basic earnings per share to be 172.85 yen.

Operating profit is expected to be up 4.5 percent to 26.7 billion yen, and net sales to be 392 billion yen, an increase of 2.1 percent from last year.

On the Tokyo Stock Exchange, the stock closed Friday's regular trading 6.94 percent higher at 4543 yen.
