GS Holdings Corp. (078930.KS), an energy and power generation producer, returned to profit for the third quarter from net loss last year.
The company's net income attributable to shareholders of the parent company was 313.89 billion Korean won from loss of 7.09 billion won the earlier year.
GS's net income surged 953.32 percent to 407.71 billion won from 38.71 billion won the last year.
For the reported period, net sales went up 2.35 percent to 6.54 trillion won from 6.39 trillion won the prior year.
On the Korean Stock Exchange, the shares closed on Thursday's regular trading 5.97 percent higher at 50,600 won.
