Digital Connexion, a joint venture backed by Reliance Industries together with Canada-based Brookfield Corporation and U.S. real estate investment trust Digital Realty, has announced plans to invest $11 billion over the next five years to build 1 gigawatt of AI data capacity in Andhra Pradesh, India, according to media reports.
The reports noted that the consortium will develop an AI-native data centre campus spanning 400 acres in Visakhapatnam, aimed at meeting the rising demand for advanced compute and storage capabilities.
The large-scale project is designed to support India's growing AI and digital infrastructure needs, as global technology firms continue expanding their cloud, data storage, and compute capacity across the country.
