Serco Wins GBP 500 Mln Contract To Manage HMP Dovegate In Staffordshire

Serco Group plc (SRP.L, SCGPY), a business process outsourcing services company, on Monday, was awarded a 500 million pounds contract to manage HMP Dovegate in Staffordshire following a competitive procurement process.

The contract will run for 12 years, with options for three additional one-year extensions.

The company said the new contract introduces service enhancements, including new education delivery models and additional job opportunities alongside the existing workforce of more than 500 employees.

The prison functions as a training facility and includes a Therapeutic Community for people with emotional or behavioural challenges.

The company said the focus remains on providing a safe and decent environment, protecting the public, and supporting prisoner rehabilitation and reintegration.

HMP Dovegate is a Category B adult male facility near Uttoxeter, housing 1,160 convicted prisoners and individuals on remand.

On Friday, Serco Group closed trading 0.47% higher at 255.60 pence on the London Stock Exchange.
