Multiplatinum singer-songwriter Megan Moroney and American record company executive Sylvia Rhone will be honored at She Is The Music's Sharing The Spotlight event.
Dedicated to fostering female inclusion in the music industry, She Is The Music will host the second edition of the annual event in Los Angeles on February 18.
The music industry-wide movement to empower female creators announced that Moroney is being honored with this year's Artist Spotlight award. Moroney's third studio album, Cloud 9, is set for release on February 20.
Rhone, who was the chair and CEO of Epic Records, will be honored with the Trailblazer Spotlight award. She is the first Black and female record executive to be named CEO at a major label.
"I'm so honored to receive this recognition from She Is The Music," Moroney said. "I wouldn't be where I am today, in my career and in life, without the support of all the incredible females around me. Knowing that some of the most talented women in the business always have my back gives me the creative space to focus on my artistry and for this I'm beyond grateful."
Rhone responded to the news by saying, "Throughout my career, I've believed that real power is about using it to create opportunity for others. I'm deeply honored to be recognized by an organization that understands progress requires both vision and action."
She Is The Music co-founder and Grammy-winning artist Alicia Keys will present the Artist Spotlight to Moroney next week.
