Australia will on Wednesday release January figures for consumer prices, highlighting a busy day for Asia-Pacific economic activity.
In December, inflation was up 0.6 percent on quarter and 3.6 percent on year. The trimmed mean was up 0.9 percent on quarter and 3.4 percent on year and the weighted mean rose 0.9 percent on quarter and 3.8 percent on year.
Australia also will see Q4 numbers for construction work done, with forecasts suggesting an increase of 1.2 percent on quarter following the 0.7 percent contraction in Q3.

The Federal Reserve policy session was in focus as it was the first to be led by the new chief Kevin Warsh. In Europe, central banks of the U.K. and Switzerland announced their rate decisions. In Asia, the Bank of Japan drew attention for its policy moves, while data out of China threw some light on the state of the economy.
