Babcock & Wilcox Shares Surge 25% On Narrower Q4 Loss And Project Agreement

Babcock & Wilcox Enterprises, Inc. (BW) shares climbed 25.43 percent to $10.16 on Wednesday, up $2.06, after the company reported a sharply narrower fourth-quarter loss and announced a $2.4 billion project agreement.

The stock is currently trading at $10.16, compared with a previous close of $8.10. It opened at $9.73 and has traded between $9.28 and $10.74 during the session on the New York Stock Exchange. Trading volume stands at 5.15 million shares, above its average volume of 2.87 million shares.

For the fourth quarter, the company reported a loss from continuing operations of $3.5 million, or $0.05 per share, compared with a loss of $53.8 million, or $0.61 per share, a year earlier. Adjusted EBITDA increased to $16.4 million from $10.7 million, while revenue was $161.0 million.

The stock has traded in a 52-week range of $0.22 to $11.57.
