Shares of Firefly Aerospace Inc. (FLY) gained over 15% after the company announced the successful launch of its Alpha Flight 7 mission.
The stock is currently trading at $23.74, up $3.14 or 15.21%, on the Nasdaq. It opened at $23.70 after closing the previous session at $20.60. The stock has traded between $16.00 and $73.80 over the past 52 weeks.
Firefly Aerospace said its Alpha Flight 7 "Stairway to Seven" mission successfully lifted off from Space Launch Complex 2 at Vandenberg Space Force Base on March 11 and delivered a demonstrator payload for Lockheed Martin after completing orbital insertion.
The company said the upcoming Alpha Flight 8 mission will feature additional upgrades designed to improve reliability and manufacturability, including a longer rocket structure, consolidated battery and avionics systems, and stronger carbon composite structures.
