Currys Plc (CURY.L) Thursday said that its Group Chief Executive Alex Baldock has announced his decision to step down from the position after eight years in order to take up a new external role. He will remain in his position during the transition period. the company said in an official statement.
On the LSE, CURY.L is currently trading down 9.7 percent on Thursday at 118.90 pence.
The British electrical and telecommunications retailer said that its Board has initiated a formal recruitment process to identify his successor, considering both internal and external candidates, and will provide updates in due course.
Additionally, the company said that since the trading update provided on January 21, it has continued to trade in line with expectations and reaffirms its outlook for group adjusted profit before tax of between 180 million pounds and 190 million pounds. This represents a growth of 11 percent to 17 percent from last year.
Currys Plc is expected to publish a full-year trading update on May 19.
