Malaysia Bourse May Reverse Thursday's Losses

The Malaysia stock market on Thursday ended the two-day winning streak in which it had climbed more than 20 points or 1.2 percent. The Kuala Lumpur Composite Index now sits just beneath the 1,700-point plateau although it may inch higher again on Friday.

The global forecast for the Asian markets is mixed to higher on conflicting messages about the status of the war in the Middle East. The European markets were down and the U.S. bourses were mixed and flat and the Asian markets figure to follow the latter lead.

A busy week for economic news flow saw a slew of reports being released that reflected the trends in the U.S. labor market. In Europe, economic growth and inflation data gained attention as the European Central Bank and Bank of England head for policy session later in the month. In Asia, the monetary policy session of the Indian central bank was in focus as the country, a major oil importer, reels under the pressures of a weaker rupee and rising inflation.
