Prince's NPG Records, in partnership with Legacy Recordings, recently shared a previously unreleased single, "With This Tear."
Prince composed, produced, and performed all the instruments for the tender, piano-driven ballad, which was recorded at Paisley Park in November 1991. He subsequently gave it to Celine Dion.
The release, which features a fresh mix by Grammy-nominated producer Chris James, forms part of a broader effort by the Prince Estate to continue opening the artist's extensive archive of unreleased material.
The newly released version arrived with a visual component, pairing the audio with archival footage and still imagery from across Prince's career.
"With This Tear" was put out a day before the 10th anniversary of Prince's death and events at the musician's famous estate and recording studio, Paisley Park, outside of Minneapolis.
