Josh Groban is set to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Wednesday, May 6, a couple of days ahead of the release of his new Reprise album, Cinematic. Groban will receive his star in the category of recording.
Groban will receive his star, which will be Hollywood's 2,843rd on the Walk of Fame, at 6212 Hollywood Boulevard, in front of Amoeba Records.
The event, to be held at 11.30 AM PT., will be streamed live at www.walkoffame.com.
David Foster, who mentored Groban and produced several of his hit albums, Josh Gad, Groban's classmate at Carnegie Mellon University, and Ben Schwarts, with whom Groban worked in the comedy film Coffee Town will be speaking at the star ceremony, which will be emceed by iHeartMedia personality Ellen K.
"The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is proud to welcome singer Josh Groban to the Hollywood Walk of Fame," Ana Martinez, Walk of Fame producer, said in a statement. "Josh has this incredible way of connecting with people through his music. It's been amazing to watch his journey over the years."
Groban, who has had three No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200, has received five Grammy nominations, including three for best traditional pop vocal album. Groban has also received two Tony nominations for best actor in a musical and two Primetime Emmy nods.
