Rockwell Automation Stock Climbs 9% Over Higher Earnings In Q2

Shares of Rockwell Automation, Inc. (ROK) are climbing about 9 percent in Tuesday morning trading after the company reported an increase in its second-quarter earnings to $350 million, or $3.10 per share, from last year's $252 million, or $2.22 per share.

The company's shares are currently trading at $439.86 on the New York Stock Exchange, up 9.80 percent. The stock opened at $406.53 and has climbed as high as $454.67 so far in today's session. Over the past year, it has traded in a range of $250.32 to $454.67.

Major central banks continued to dominate the economic news flow this week too, led by the Federal Reserve, as they announced their latest policy decisions. The Federal Reserve policy session was in focus as it was the first to be led by the new chief Kevin Warsh. In Europe, central banks of the U.K. and Switzerland announced their rate decisions. In Asia, the Bank of Japan drew attention for its policy moves, while data out of China threw some light on the state of the economy.
