Swiss Market Ends Modestly Higher

After a flat start, the Switzerland market gained in strength and stayed positive right through the trading session on Tuesday, in line with markets across Europe.

The benchmark SMI ended with a gain of 48.84 points or 0.38% at 13,052.17, about 50 points off the day's high of 13,101.88.

In other news, several countries released the preliminary data for first quarter economic growth. In the U.S., comments by Fed Chair Jerome Powell were also in focus as his term ends this month.
