Tech Shares May Provide KOSPI With More Upside

The South Korea stock market bounced higher again on Wednesday, one day after ending the five-day winning streak in which it had skyrocketed more than 1,225 points or 16.9 percent. Now at a fresh record closing high, the KOSPI sits just beneath the 7,850-point plateau and it may extend its gains again on Thursday.

The global forecast for the Asian markets is cautiously optimistic on hopes for an end to the hostilities in the Middle East. The European markets were up and the U.S. bourses were mostly higher and the Asian markets are also expected to track to the upside.

In Asia, the monetary policy session of the Indian central bank was in focus as the country, a major oil importer, reels under the pressures of a weaker rupee and rising inflation.
