Deep Purple recently released a new song, "Arrogant Boy," via earMUSIC. The song is from the band's upcoming studio album, SPLAT!, due out on July 3rd.
The Classic Rock Germany magazine describes "Arrogant Boy" as "an electrifying song in the style of Space Truckin' or Highway Star', adding that it 'doesn't copy these classics; rather, it cleverly varies them."
Deep Purple frontman Ian Gillan said, '"This is the story of Billy who couldn't read or write. He is unhappy with things, so he speaks up, and finds a way of irritating, one way or another, the elite. And I can't think of anything more fun than irritating the elite. It would be a joyous exercise for me every morning after coffee.'"
Drummer Ian Paice describes the song as "a Highway Star-style rock'n'roll tune."
