Billy Idol will be honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 52nd American Music Awards.
CBS and Dick Clark Productions announced that the rock legend and 2026 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee will be honored in recognition of his incomparable career, body of work, unparalleled contributions to music, lasting legacy and continued influence on generations of artists and fans.
At the ceremony, taking place on Monday, May 25, Idol will perform a medley of his greatest hits, marking his first ever AMA performance and his first time returning to the stage since presenting in 2004.
AMA executive producers Barry Adelman, EVP, Television, and Alexi Mazareas, senior VP, programming & development, Dick Clark Productions, said in a joint statement, "Billy Idol is a true rock legend whose influence has transcended generations and genres. From his groundbreaking music to his electrifying stage presence, Billy has left an indelible mark on popular culture and the music industry."
Idol is set to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Hame this fall.
The 52nd American Music Awards, hosted by Queen Latifah, will air live from MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The show will air on CBS and stream on Paramount+ at 8:00 pm ET / 5:00 pm PT.
