KOSPI May Extend Tuesday's Losses

The South Korea stock market has finished lower in two of three trading days since the end of the two-day winning streak in which it had rallied almost 340 points or 4.2 percent. The KOSPI now sits just above the 7,270-point plateau and it's likely to open under water again on Wednesday.

The global forecast for the Asian markets is weak on continued concerns over the conflict in the Middle East and on the outlook got interest rates. The European markets were mixed and the U.S. bourses were down and the Asian markets figure to follow the latter lead.

Apart from the confirmation of Kevin Warsh as the next Fed chair, the main news on the economics front this week included key price data from the U.S. and the first quarter economic growth figures from major economies. Both consumer prices and producer costs have started to reflect the effect of supply shocks due to the Middle East conflict. In Europe, GDP data was in focus, while inflation data from China dominated the news flow in Asia.
