Chinese electric vehicle maker NIO Inc. (NIO,NIO.SI,9866.HK) announced on Monday that its deliveries rose 62.3 percent year-on-year in May to 37,705 vehicles, helped by new SUV launches.
The tally included 20,013 vehicles from its NIO brand, 12,029 from ONVO and 5,663 from FIREFLY, the company said.
Year-to-date deliveries reached 150,526 vehicles, up 68.7 percent from a year earlier, it said.
Cumulative deliveries stood at 1,148,118 as of May 31.
NIO launched the ONVO L80 five-seat SUV on May 15 and began deliveries on May 16. The company also launched the ES9 flagship SUV on May 27, with deliveries starting May 28.
The Nio ES8 ranked first in sales among models priced above 400,000 yuan across all energy types for five consecutive months as of May, the company said in a statement.
On the HKSE, shares of NIO were gaining 5.32 percent, changing hands at HK$44.760.
