On Wednesday, Mutares SE & Co. KGaA (MUX.F), a private equity firm, announced that it signed an agreement to acquire TREPEL Airport Equipment GmbH and MAFI Transport-Systeme GmbH from NDW Maschinenbau Holding GmbH. The financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
The transaction includes combining the operating businesses of both companies and thereby strengthening Mutares' Infrastructure and Special Industries segment. The transaction is expected to close in the third quarter of 2026.
On the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, the shares were trading at 29.00 euros, 0.35 percent higher.
Both companies are global providers of equipment for airport ground handling, ports and industrial logistics. TREPEL focuses on Aircraft equipment, whereas MAFI specializes in tractors and transport systems for ports. Both the companies generate revenue of approximately 150 million euros and has 410 people as employees. The business is supported by a diversified customer base and a growing service business, which brings 12 percent of total revenues.
