CervoMed Inc. (CRVO) has received a notice of allowance from the United States Patent and Trademark Office related to a new patent protecting its drug candidate, Neflamapimod, for the treatment of dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB) in patients with no substantial Alzheimer's disease-like tau pathology, also known as "pure DLB".
Why it matters?
The patent is expected to provide intellectual property protection for Neflamapimod into 2042 and potentially longer with patent term extension. Currently, there are no approved treatments for DLB in the United States or European Union.
