The Malaysia stock market on Monday ended the seven-day winning streak in which it had advanced almost 40 points or 2.3 percent. The Kuala Lumpur Composite Index now sits just above the 1,700-point plateau and it may extend its losses on Tuesday.
The global forecast for the Asian markets is mixed to lower amid weakness from technology shares and concerns about the outlook for interest rates. The European and U.S. markets were mixed to lower and the Asian bourses figure to also open to the downside.

In Asia, the Bank of Japan drew attention for its policy moves, while data out of China threw some light on the state of the economy.
