BMO Financial Group (BMO,BMO.TO) announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire Capital Markets Business of Euroz Hartleys Group (EZL.AX), a mining-focused equity capital market and M&A company based in Australia. The financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

In the deal, BMO's metals and mining franchise will be combined with the Australian equity distribution platforms, creating an integrated global capability for clients.

The combined team is expected to operate as an integrated global platform, providing connectivity across North American, European and Australian markets.

Following the deal, Euroz Hartleys's private wealth business will remain independent and will enter into a strategic alliance agreement with BMO.

The transaction is to close in the fourth quarter of calendar year 2026.

Carrie Cook, Global Head, Investment & Corporate Banking, BMO Capital Markets, said, "By combining our global distribution capabilities with deep local expertise in Australia, we are building a more connected platform that will enable clients to access capital and opportunities across markets. As capital formation continues to shift globally, our clients increasingly expect seamless access to investors and opportunities across markets—and this transaction supports our ambition to be ahead of that evolution."

Related to the transaction, BMO Capital Markets acted as BMO's exclusive financial advisor.

On the ASX, Euroz Hartleys shares closed Tuesday's trading 8.00 percent higher at A$1.3500.
