Noveko International Inc. (EKO.V) on Tuesday announced that its subsidiary Noveko Inc. has been granted a patent for its antimicrobial filtration technology by the Ministry of Economic Affairs Intellectual Property Office of R.O.C. Taiwan.

Noveko is in the process of acquiring Purer Life, a filtration fabric manufacturer located in Taiwan, and the granting of the patent gives the company further protection. This strategic acquisition, which is expected to close by the end of April 2008, would enable Noveko to assure and control its production of antimicrobial air filters and to penetrate new markets.

Additionally, Noveko also said it has been granted a "Notice of Allowance" by the Canadian Intellectual Property Office, after its June 2003 filing of a patent application for its antimicrobial filtration technology. And the Canadian patent is expected within the next few weeks, the company added. Noveko already holds a U.S. patent and a Eurasian patent for its antimicrobial filtration technology.
