Digital River, Inc. (DRIV), a provider of global e-commerce solutions, on Thursday said it signed an e-commerce agreement with Aspyr Media, Inc., an entertainment publisher. Digital River will build, host and manage an online store for Aspyr to support the sale and digital delivery of select Macintosh- and PC-based products in North America. Aspyr expects the online store, called Game Agent, to launch during the summer of 2008.
Commening on the agreement, Joel Ronning, Digital River’s CEO said: “Gaming publishers continue to choose Digital River as an e-commerce partner because of the depth and breadth of our world-class e-commerce system and our deep domain expertise.”
According to Ted Staloch, executive vice president of publishing for Aspyr: “Aspyr has long been the dominant player in the Macintosh gaming space and we want to build on that leadership and create the best possible online solution for our customers. Digital River will deliver a secure and robust online store that will give gamers a satisfying experience when downloading great titles from Aspyr and its partners.”
DRIV is currently trading at $36.21, up $0.19 or 0.53%, on 202,828 shares.
