Peoples Bancorp Inc. (PEBO), a diversified financial products and services company, said Friday that the Board of Directors has appointed Richard Ferguson as chairman of the Board, effective July 1, 2008. Ferguson takes the place of Joseph Wesel, who will be resigning a day earlier.
Ferguson has served as a director of the Marietta, Ohio-based banking company, since 2004 and as Audit Committee Chairman since 2005. A 30-year veteran in the accounting and financial management field, Ferguson currently owns his own firm Ferguson Consulting, LLC.
Wesel has been chairman of the Board since 2005 and also from 1991 to 2003. He, however, remains as a director of Peoples Bancorp and its banking subsidiary Peoples Bank, National Association.
PEBO closed Thursday's regular trading at $23.36, up $0.35, on a volume of 15,900 shares.
