Thursday, Acxiom Corp. (ACXM) announced a new partnership with EMC Corp. (EMC), a provider of information infrastructure solutions, to deliver secure, on-demand data recovery technology.
Acxiom said its Online Backup-X, based on EMC's Mozy remote backup service, enables Acxiom clients and prospects to store and recover files on-demand from their desktop, saving thousands of dollars in expenses and countless hours of recovery time.
Acxiom noted that its solution would fulfill the needs of today's businesses for data protection solutions that are low cost, quick to deploy, secure and offer users the ability to access data quickly in the event of loss.
Acxiom said EMC currently provides backup services through the Mozy product offering to more than 750,000 total users, including 20,000 businesses across the world. Mozy provides consumers with online backup services for PC, Mac, and Windows servers. Mozy features include a private key encryption option, incremental backups, Web-based restore options and file versioning.
Acxiom is currently trading at $13.69, down $0.37 or 2.63%, while EMC is trading at $16.52, up $0.15 or 0.92%.
