The average asking price for houses in the United Kingdom is down a record 7.3 percent on year in January, property website Rightmove said on Monday, standing at 213,570 pounds.
That marks the largest annual decline since the report's incarnation in 2002, and it follows the 6.3 percent fall on year in December.
On a monthly basis, house prices fell 1.9 percent following a 2.3 percent monthly decline in December.
The report also showed that the number of listings for new homes had fallen by more than 7 percent since November and had been cut in half over the previous year.
