ABN AMRO announces FY08 profit after tax of about EUR 3.5 bln - Quick Facts

ABN AMRO, a Dutch bank, currently owned by RFS Holdings B.V., a consortium of Royal Bank of Scotland Group (RBS,RBS.L), announced on an estimated and unaudited basis, a profit after tax of approximately EUR 3.5 billion for the full year of 2008.

This comprises a loss after tax in the region of EUR 13 billion from continuing operations offset by a gain after tax of EUR 16.5 billion from discontinued operations, including the results from the sale and transfer of Banco Real, Banca Antonveneta and the Asset Management business.
