Tuesday, Intellon Corp. (ITLN) said it signed a technology licensing agreement with devolo AG of Aachen, Germany. Under the terms of the Agreement, Intellon will license devolo's patented low-current technology, which reduces power consumption in wireline networking devices.

The company said the agreement grants Intellon the right to use devolo's power saving technology in its ICs for powerline and other wired communications. As a result, Intellon customers will have the opportunity to use this important technology in products based on Intellon's ICs.

Initially, Intellon will make the licensed technology available for its INT6300 and INT6400 HomePlug AV-based chipsets and reference designs.
