SABMiller non-executive director resigns; subsidiary completes sale of bottled water business

Brewer SABMiller plc (SAB.L) Friday announced the resignation of Maria Ramos as a non-executive director with effect from February 26.

The company said that Maria has been appointed as the chief executive of ABSA in South Africa, effective March 1.

In a separate release, SABMiller announced that its Colombian subsidiary Bavaria S.A. completed the sale of its Agua Brisa bottled water business and assets on February 26. These assets were acquired jointly by Coca-Cola FEMSA and Coca-Cola Co. (KO) for a consideration of US$92 million.

SABMiller stated that the transfer of the assets and the commercial operation will be subject to a transition arrangement of several months, during which Bavaria will continue to produce, sell and distribute Brisa.

SAB.L is trading at 1,015 pence on the LSE, down 6 pence, on a volume of 744,171 shares.
