Lamar Advertising Co. (LAMR) reported a first quarter loss of $0.23 per share Thursday morning, compared to a loss of $0.04 per share last year. The consensus estimate was for a loss of $0.28. Lamar Advertising spiked to the upside in early trade Thursday, but was range-bound for the majority of the session. The stock finished higher by $3.62 at $22.12 on above average volume. Lamar Advertising broke out to a 6 1/2 month high and re-crossed its 200-day moving average.
