H&R Block Inc. (HRB) reported fourth quarter income from continuing operations of $2.09 per share after the bell Monday, which was above the consensus estimate of $2.05. The company expects to report full year 2010 income from continuing operations of $1.60 to $1.80 per share, compared to the consensus estimate of $1.66.
H&R Block Inc. gapped open sharply higher Tuesday and climbed further around midday. Shares finished up by $1.56 at $17.23 on the highest volume of the year. The stock broke out to nearly a 3-month high.
