1955 - James Brown Records 'Please, Please, Please'

James Brown recorded his classic song "Please, Please, Please" on February 4, 1956.

The song was recorded at King Studios in Cincinnati, Ohio. It featured the 22-year-old James and his backing group the Famous Flames. The tune was the first recording for James and would become his first hit.

James, of course, would go on to become one of the most influential artists in popular music, creating songs like "It's a Man's Man's Man's World" and "Papa's Got a Brand New Bag."
