Paul McCartney and Wings hit the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart with their track “With A Little Luck” on May 20, 1979. The track was released off their album “London Town” and featured the B-side “Backwards Traveller/Cuff Link.”When the track hit number one, it claimed the top spot from "If I Can't Have You" by Yvonne Elliman. The group held on at number one for one week with the track before "Too Much, Too Little, Too Late" by Johnny Mathis and Deniece Williams hit number one on May 27. The song was written and recorded on a yacht in the British Virgin Islands. At the time, McCartney, his family, and the band were all living on yachts in the islands and they had a custom floating recording studio built to accommodate their work schedule.
