Billy Ray held on at number one through October 9, 1992 when “The Chase” by Garth Brooks claimed the top position. “Achy Breaky Heart” was originally recorded by the Oak Ridge Boys and was titled “Don’t Tell My Heart.” The original version of the song included the lyrics “don’t tell my heart, my achy, breakin’ heart.” The title was change after Cyrus adapted the lyric.
