John Lennon and Paul McCartney wrote the classic Beatles hit "She Loves You" in a hotel room in England on June 26, 1963.

Riding to a gig in Newcastle, the band began writing the song in their van. Inspired by a Bobby Rydell song, McCartney had suggested a call-and-response tune, with some of the group singing "She loves you..." while the rest of the group responds, "Yeah, yeah, yeah." The back-and-forth concept was abandoned, but, that afternoon at the hotel, the two main Beatle songwriters sat across from each other on twin beds and hashed out the rest of the song.

According to beatlesbible.com, they finished the track the following day at McCartney's home in Liverpool. Recorded less than a week later, it would go on to become one of the Beatles’ most popular songs, topping the Billboard Hot 100 the following March.
