Steve Winwood Reaches Number One With 'Higher Love' 26 Years Ago

Bob Dylan released his classic album "Highway 61 Revisited" on August 30, 1965.

The LP continued Dylan's move into electric music. After establishing himself as the king of the early 1960s folk movement with such tunes as "Blowin' In The Wind" and "The Times They Are A Changin'," the singer made the controversial decision to move away from his acoustic roots to embrace a more rock-oriented sound.

He began this with 1965's "Bringing It All Back Home," half of which was devoted to songs performed with a rock band. "Highway 61 Revisited" was a full rock effort and included the title track, "Tombstone Blues" and "Like A Rolling Stone," which is considered one of the best tracks of the 1960s.
