Cate Blanchett, the Oscar-winning actress who played Galadriel in Peter Jackson's "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy, is 44 today. She also won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Katharine Hepburn in "The Aviator." Some of her other films include "Elizabeth," "Bandits" and "Notes on a Scandal."
