Stephen Leo “Steve” Poizner is an American businessman, and technology entrepreneur. Poizner founded SnapTrack, which put GPS receivers into a vast number of cell phones around the world, as well as Strategic Mapping.He was a Republican candidate for governor of California in the 2010 primary, but was defeated by former CEO of eBay, Meg Whitman.Poizner has served a year as a White House Fellow in the National Security Council, and also held the position of Director of Critical Infrastructure Protection. He was involved in developing Homeland Security programs relating to cybersecurity and emergency response communication protocols.
