The founder of Electronic Data Systems was the 90's version of the tycoon-turned-politician.Henry Ross Perot, a computer billionaire, ran for president in 1992 and 1996 as an independent candidate. He won 19 percent of the popular vote during the 1992 presidential election, the most ever for an independent candidate.In 1996, he was the candidate of the newly founded Reform Party, which he created and funded.EDS, which he founded in 1962, was sold to General Motors in 1984. He later founded Perot Systems, which was sold to Dell in 2009.
