Pain Therapeutics Inc. (PTIE) will know whether or not its pain drug Remoxy reaches the FDA finish line on September 25, 2016.Remoxy is a long-acting abuse-resistant narcotic analgesic formulation in development for the treatment of moderate to severe chronic pain. It is formulated with Durect Corp.’s (DRRX) SABER technology under a joint development and license agreement entered into between Pain Therapeutics and Durect.This is Remoxy’s third go-around with the FDA. The New Drug Application for Remoxy was rejected twice by the FDA – in December 2008 and June 2011.It remains to be seen if the third time will be a charm for Remoxy.
