The Tower of Terror, which is among the most mechanically complex rides ever built, is a major attraction at Disney's Hollywood Studios in Florida.The theme of the ride was conceptualized from one of the episodes of 'The Twilight Zone', the paranormal science fiction that hit the stands in 1960s. Like in the fiction where a lightening-struck elevator in "Hollywood Tower Hotel" gets transported with its five occupants and goes out of sight, the visitor to the ride Tower of Terror finds himself in a similar situation while he is aboard the 'maintenance service elevator'.The ride begins with a short vertical shaft that takes the rider up two levels and then into the fifth dimension. On the way, you get to see the ghostly figures of the lost souls in the hotel corridor, and glance through the stars and eventually lifted to the top of the tower for a spectacular view of the whole park and the final plunge that makes you feel you are floating around.
