It is designed to restore physiologic levels of parathyroid hormone 24 hours a day.Parathyroid hormone is crucial in regulating the levels of calcium, phosphate, and active vitamin D (calcitriol) in the blood and bone.Hypoparathyroidism, a rare endocrine disorder, occurs when there is a deficiency or absence of parathyroid hormone.
