The FDA decision on the expanded use of Pfizer Inc.’s (PFE) PREVNAR 20, the company’s 20-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine candidate in infants and children, is due in the month of April.PREVNAR 20 is proposed for the prevention of invasive pneumococcal disease (IPD) caused by the 20 Streptococcus pneumoniae serotypes contained in the vaccine in infants and children 6 weeks through 17 years of age, and for the prevention of otitis media caused by seven of the 20 Streptococcus pneumoniae serotypes contained in the vaccine.The vaccine is already approved for the prevention of invasive disease and pneumonia caused by the 20 Streptococcus pneumoniae serotypes in the vaccine in adults ages 18 years and older.PFE closed Thursday’s (Mar.30, 2023) trading at $40.38.
