Fiona Apple released her sophomore album on November 9, 1999.

The LP, which has a 90-word title but is generally known as "When The Pawn . . .," was the follow-up to her successful debut, "Tidal." The album featured the singles "Fast As You Can," "Limp" and "Paper Bag."

There was a three year gap between Apple's first and second albums. The famously fastidious singer would take even longer to produce her third effort.

"Extraordinary Machine" would not come out until 2005.

The full title to Apple’s second album:

“When the pawn hits the conflicts he thinks like a king What he knows throws the blows when he goes to the fight And he'll win the whole thing 'fore he enters the ring There's no body to batter when your mind is your might So when you go solo, you hold your own hand And remember that depth is the greatest of heights And if you know where you stand, then you know where to land And if you fall it won't matter, cuz you'll know that you're right”
