Bachman-Turner Overdrive hit the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart with their hit “You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet” on November 9, 1974. The song was penned by Randy Bachman as a gift for his brother Gary, who was the band’s first manager.

“He stuttered. He had a speech impediment. We thought, just for fun . . . We’d take this song and I’d stutter and we’d send it to him. He’ll have the only copy in the world of this song by BTO,” he told Billboard.

It was only after a rep from their record label claimed their third album was missing a hit single that they revealed the track. The track claimed the top spot from Stevie Wonder’s hit "You Haven't Done Nothin'.” After one week at the top, BTO was succeeded by John Lennon’s track "Whatever Gets You thru the Night.”
